Research on Kalabati rice in Sambalpur University
Department of food science technology and nutrition takes a lead research on the nutritional values of Kalabati rice, a rare and nutrient-rich variety of black or purple rice, offers several health benefits. Its unique color comes from anthocyanins, potent antioxidants that contribute to overall well-being. The research Sholar Payal Sharma under the guide of Aparajita Priyadarshini and supervision of Prof. Pradeep Kumar Naik took a great step towards bringing the importance and nutritional value of this rice product that will be great diet to well beings. These are the health benefits of kalabati rice: High in Antioxidants, Rich in Fiber, Good Source of Iron, Supports Heart Health, Promotes Weight Management, Rich in Protein, Gluten-Free, Packed with Essential Minerals. These qualities make Kalabati rice not only a flavorful but also a nutritious addition to a balanced diet.
